TweetIain Lee brings ‘Impostor Syndrome’ to Macclesfield Comedy Club
Macclesfield Comedy Club welcomes TV, radio and comedy star Iain Lee as he brings his acclaimed live show Impostor Syndrome to the venue on Friday 20th March.
Best known as a breakout star of Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show — alongside the then-unknown Ricky Gervais and Sacha Baron Cohen — and as a standout campmate on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Iain Lee is also one of the UK’s most distinctive radio broadcasters. Over three decades, he has fronted cult, award-winning shows across LBC, BBC Radio and Absolute Radio, earning a reputation for fearless, unscripted and deeply personal broadcasting that broke the mould of traditional phone-in radio and built fiercely loyal audiences.
Impostor Syndrome is Iain’s first solo stand-up show in over a decade and offers a raw, hilarious and revealing look at fame, failure, mental health and self-doubt. The show blends sharp stand-up with clips from The 11 O’Clock Show, songs, audience interaction and brutally honest stories from behind the scenes of celebrity.
Hosted by MC Jonathan Mayor, the night also features rising stars Chloe Reynolds and Zuza Ritt, two of the most exciting new voices on the UK comedy circuit.

Great comedy and fab venue (other than the pews, which were a tad uncomfortable and needed sanding down a bit - two of our group came away with holes in clothes from rough wood/nails/who knows what! Looking forward to seeing more comedy in Macclesfield soon.

Brilliant night, high quality and diverse comedy in a unique location. I cried with laughter at 2 of the stand ups. I loved the church, the loos were a struggle, and even though the queue for the bar was physically long I thought the wait time was reasonable.

We had high expectations as the acts have some commercial success! We were disappointed with all acts using material that is at least a couple of years old and is on You Tube! We have seen Paul C also at a small venue but he was exceptionally good with new material! The sound was poor at times or it was the act not talking into the microphone correctly! The only act I would give a second chance to is PHIL ELLIS! We did come to see TEZ ILYAS but I was super disappointed with his performance I have no words! I did enjoy the musical game by BARBARA NICE at the end of her act but that’s it ! The MC was witty and did a good job warming up the audience! The real comedy was my husbands reactions to what we were witnessing! It’s 3 hours and £30 we are never going to get back but we have a memory of the worst comedy event we have attended to date!

A bit strange to be seated in the seats where one would normally watch Rugby! This altered the ambience and the viewing experience.
