TweetIain Lee brings ‘Impostor Syndrome’ to Macclesfield Comedy Club
Macclesfield Comedy Club welcomes TV, radio and comedy star Iain Lee as he brings his acclaimed live show Impostor Syndrome to the venue on Friday 20th March.
Best known as a breakout star of Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show — alongside the then-unknown Ricky Gervais and Sacha Baron Cohen — and as a standout campmate on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Iain Lee is also one of the UK’s most distinctive radio broadcasters. Over three decades, he has fronted cult, award-winning shows across LBC, BBC Radio and Absolute Radio, earning a reputation for fearless, unscripted and deeply personal broadcasting that broke the mould of traditional phone-in radio and built fiercely loyal audiences.
Impostor Syndrome is Iain’s first solo stand-up show in over a decade and offers a raw, hilarious and revealing look at fame, failure, mental health and self-doubt. The show blends sharp stand-up with clips from The 11 O’Clock Show, songs, audience interaction and brutally honest stories from behind the scenes of celebrity.
Hosted by MC Jonathan Mayor, the night also features rising stars Chloe Reynolds and Zuza Ritt, two of the most exciting new voices on the UK comedy circuit.

The venue didn’t have a wine list & our server didn’t know what the prices were, so we had to google it for her. The comedy was pretty weak. Some people in the audience were complaining to the comics but were met with defensive insults rather than clever responses. It was quite uncomfortable. Some people left early as it was so bad. I stayed until the end in case it got better but unfortunately I won’t be returning for the comedy night

Firstly, the compare was great, camp and fierce, and found the perfect drunken. Heckler to cut his on,first comedian was a manc comedian with a dark edge to him, will develop into a decent act. second was a lesbian girl who grew into the act has she went along, didn't find she the mark every time, but by no means did she do bad, last comedian was a slow burner who gradually won over the audience, they all said some funny things to be fair, all in all,a good night.
