8pm to 9pm Michael Akadiri (UK Tour Preview / Work In Progress) ( 60mins)
Following two hit UK tours, Biggest Award in Comedy nominee and resident (junior) Doctor Michael Akadiri prescribes a potent dose of his latest offering, Don’t Call Me Uncle! Multi-award-winning comedian Michael is proud to wear many hats: doctor, husband & father. Evidently, that list does not include uncle.Yet, despite only being in his early 30s, “the supremely talented and likeable” (Metro) doctor, for the first time ever, was recently called uncle in public (a term usually reserved for elders!). This has sent him spiralling!
Join the ”‘hugely entertaining” (Chortle) Akadiri as he fights this lurid allegation, contemplates the difference between perception and reality all whilst keeping the laughs flowing with his trademark “sharp-wit” (Chortle) & “politically punchy” (Guardian) anecdotes.
As seen on Comedy Central LIVE, ITVs Stand Up Sketch & Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer. Tour support for Jason Manford.
As heard on Capital Xtra’s Breakfast Show, LBC & BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends. Winner - Komedia New Comedy Award Winner - Comedian of Medicine Award, Haags Comedy Festival NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy nominee. https://michaelakadiri.com/

Gotta work out a way of being able to hear every word the comedians say. Even having the mic volume of guests at 50% meant that some of the punchlines could not be heard at all. It is the only bad thing about this, everything else is absolutely superb. Personally I would rather everyone was on mute for the comedians performance and the ‘laughter’ was given in the form of the emoji things with the volume turned up right at the end for the rapturous applause. I know this experience may not be the same for the comedian but would be 100% better for the audience. Anytime a comedian wanted to interact with an audience member the admin would simply unmute them. FYI - don’t think this is required for the MC as it’s more of a discussion / free for all then. Also think, if this was implemented you could charge £10+ at least

Brilliant! All of the comedians were fantastic- and we were so chuffed that Russell Kane was the secret special guest. Seen Marcel lots of times before at various venues in Manchester, so it was lovely to see him again (even though it was online) and we really felt part of the show too which was amazing - It was definitely a great alternative to being there in the flesh. Thank you sooo much for organising this event. We loved it👍🏻🥰 We will def watch the next gig if we can. See you then. Jeni and Jonny. xx
